Nashville two-vehicle accident critically injures one

A two-vehicle accident that happened along Old Hickory Boulevard near Interstate 40 in Nashville critically injured a woman. The woman was identified as a passenger in the vehicle of 51-year-old Robert Weaver, who caused the collision on Friday, August 5 at around 11:30 p.m.

According to preliminary investigations, Weaver exited for Old Hickory Road in his red Ford Explorer and rear-ended another vehicle. He continued driving and proceeded to hit a utility pole at Old Hickory Boulevard and Bell Road. The passenger in Weaver’s vehicle, who was allegedly his girlfriend, sustained critical head injuries and was brought to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Meanwhile, Weaver tried to flee the scene of the accident but was later caught by the authorities. He was charged with eight offenses, including vehicular assault, failure to render aid, and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
